Six of us (Art, Brad, Guy, Dick, Trevor & Nick) cleared and flagged a new route to the top of Mount Laidlaw. This is a definite improvement over our regular route up: not only are there more frequent and more expansive views but, in combination with the regular route, this turns the hike into a loop instead of a there-and-back. The two view points at the top plus those on the way up offer 36o degree views. 'Goldilocks' weather: not too hot, not too cold. The hillside was still covered with early spring flowers - spring beauty, mertensia, yellow bells, shooting star & buttercups - which have already come and gone lower in the valley.
